Qatar Launches 'Companies House' to Unify Business Registration Across Four Economic Zones
The Qatari ministry has launched 'Companies House' to unify business registration and licensing across four economic zones, with the platform managed by an advisory board chaired by the minister.

Qatar's Ministry of Commerce and Industry has launched "Companies House," a unified platform for business registration, licensing, and public register management, consolidating incorporation and licensing procedures for all companies across four economic zones, according to legal platform Mondaq.
The new platform integrates functions previously distributed across several entities, most notably the Qatar Financial Centre, the Free Zones Authority, the Qatar Science & Technology Park, and Media City. Consequently, these duties transition to a single regulatory window, making it easier for investors to establish their companies and obtain licenses from one place instead of navigating between multiple authorities.
Management of "Companies House" has been assigned to an advisory board chaired by the Minister of Commerce and Industry himself, while the competent authorities have not yet disclosed the transitional arrangements for entities originally registered prior to the platform's launch.
This step comes as part of Qatar's efforts to streamline business procedures and improve the investment environment, as the unified platform is expected to shorten the company formation cycle and reduce costs for local and foreign investors. Details regarding licensing and relevant public registries will be added through the platform as it becomes fully operational.
