Boursa Kuwait ended a five-session losing streak, as the Main Market 50 index rose 1.10% to close at 10,078.49 points, according to Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida.
The Premier Market index rose 0.18% to close at 9,050.66 points, in a session where trading value reached 74.01 million dinars executed across 263.84 million shares.
The real estate sector led the session's gains, while the technology sector fell 4.53%, reflecting a clear divergence in performance across sectors despite the rise in the general index. This divergence indicates that gains were concentrated in specific stocks rather than the broader market.
The Main Market 50 index serves as a benchmark for the performance of the largest companies listed on Boursa Kuwait, while the Premier Market includes the largest and most liquid companies on the exchange. Today's session follows a period of pressure lasting five consecutive sessions, making the rise of both indices a sign of the market attempting to recover its levels.
