ZIM Raises 2026 Outlook Driven by Demand and Freight Rates

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services raised its guidance for fiscal year 2026 to adjusted EBITDA between $2.7 billion and $3.0 billion, and adjusted EBIT between $1.4 billion and $1.7 billion. The update was delivered in an investor disclosure, compared with previous guidance issued by the company on August 19 of $2.0 to $2.4 billion and $0.7 to $1.1 billion, respectively.

The company stated that the midpoint of the new range represents an increase of approximately 30% in adjusted EBITDA and a rise of about 72% in adjusted EBIT. This difference reflects a sharp improvement in the company's performance since its last guidance issued approximately seven weeks ago.

ZIM attributed the raised forecast to continued strength in market demand and favorable momentum in freight rates. This improvement comes at a time when global ocean freight rates remain at elevated levels compared to where they were before shipping disruptions in key maritime corridors.

The guidance increase is an indicator that shipping companies are still reaping gains from high freight rates, even amid signs that rates could ease later as vessels return to shorter routes. Investors are waiting to see whether this momentum will carry into the final quarter of the year.
