Morocco Nears 16 Million Tourists in Nine Months, Targets 26 Million
Morocco welcomed 15.7 million tourists in the first nine months of 2026, a 5% increase over last year, with September visitors alone surpassing 1.5 million.

Morocco welcomed nearly 15.7 million tourists during the first nine months of 2026, up 5% compared to the same period in 2025, according to the tourism news platform Hosteltur.
This represents an increase of more than 717,000 tourists, while the number of visitors in September alone surpassed 1.5 million, an 8% year-on-year increase. This performance points to sustained demand for the Moroccan destination despite economic conditions.
Tourism represents 7.3% of Morocco's gross domestic product, making it one of the pillars of the economy and a key sector for employment and foreign exchange earnings.
The Ministry of Tourism stated that the goal of reaching 26 million visitors by 2030 is now "closer than ever." This development concerns workers in hospitality, aviation, and services, as the rising number of visitors drives further investment in capacity and infrastructure.
