Listen to this story
Seven countries in the OPEC+ alliance kept their oil production policy unchanged for the upcoming month of November, in a decision that maintains supplies at their current levels for the second consecutive month. The group includes Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman, all of which are prominent producers inside and outside the alliance. The decision follows regular meetings closely monitored by the market to determine supply volumes.
Alliance data showed that these countries pumped around 25 million barrels per day last August, about five million barrels per day less than February levels before the outbreak of the war. Total OPEC+ production reached around 38.055 million barrels per day, reflecting the volume of supply offered by the group in the global market.
OPEC+ supply policy is one of the primary factors determining global oil prices, directly impacting Gulf states' revenues and budgets. Investors in energy and stock markets await every decision issued by the alliance, as any change in production is quickly reflected in prices and in fuel and energy costs worldwide.
Maintaining the policy comes at a time when the alliance's decisions intersect with global supply and demand developments, with the market awaiting any new signals from upcoming meetings. The trajectory of supplies in the coming period will determine the available supply volume, and consequently the degree of price stability in energy markets over the coming months.
