SpaceX shares rose by about 5.5% during today's trading, with the last traded price reaching $167.7 at 11:01 AM EST. This rise comes as an extension of a gain of nearly 7.4% in Friday's session, which followed three launches in less than 13 hours, as reported by 24/7 Wall St.
Elon Musk stated that the company's artificial intelligence unit, previously known as "SpaceXAI", will be renamed to "SpaceXSI". This move places artificial intelligence at the core of the company's identity at a time when space and technology firms are racing to integrate computing capabilities into their services.
In the same context, Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas reiterated his "Overweight" rating on the company's stock, maintaining a target price of $300, a level well above the current trading price. The reiterated rating means the bank continues to see room for the stock to rise in the coming period.
Not all sector stocks kept pace with this upward performance; Rocket Lab stock recorded a decline during the session, while AST SpaceMobile stock remained nearly flat. This divergence reflects that investors favor larger companies that are closer to generating regular revenue from launches and orbital services.
