Choice Hotels Acquires Harvest Hosts for Around $130 Million

On September 30, Choice Hotels International agreed to acquire Harvest Hosts OpCo from Stripes and other shareholders for approximately $130 million in cash, in a deal transferring full ownership of the hospitality platform to one of the world's largest hotel chains.

The company stated that it will fund the transaction using available cash and a revolving credit facility, adding that the deal was slated to close on October 1, just one day after its announcement, a timeline reflecting the parties' readiness for a swift completion.

Harvest Hosts is set to continue operating as an independent entity within the group, while Choice said it does not expect a material impact from the deal on its 2026 financial results, meaning its return will manifest gradually over the coming years.

The acquisition falls within a wave of mergers in the US hospitality industry, as major chains seek to incorporate smaller platforms to expand their customer base—a trend tracked by investors as an indicator of the sector's appetite for expansion at a time when revenue growth is slowing, and buyers prefer assets that add new booking channels.
