XPeng Robotics Raises $900 Million in Series A Round, Marking China's Largest Robotics Funding

XPeng Robotics, a company specializing in the development of humanoid robots, closed a Series A funding round exceeding $900 million, recording the largest initial funding round in the history of the Chinese robotics sector.

The company aims to develop humanoid robots capable of working in factory and warehouse environments, in a market where companies like Boston Dynamics, Figure AI, and Tesla Optimus compete for growing market shares.

This round comes amid a wave of Chinese investment in the robotics and hard tech sectors, as billions of dollars are poured in to narrow the gap with American and Japanese competitors in this field.

XPeng Robotics intends to use the funding to expand R&D facilities and build pilot production lines for humanoid robots. Analysts believe that massive investments in Chinese robotics signal a radical shift in the balance of global manufacturing over the next decade.
