Middle East Startup Investments Jump 74% in August, Surpassing $337 Million

Startups in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region tracked $337.5 million in funding across 47 deals during August 2026, marking a sharp year-on-year surge of 74% compared to the same period in 2025.

Saudi Arabia topped the list of deal-hosting countries with $166 million across 19 rounds, while the UAE recorded $154 million across 11 deals, reaffirming both regions' positions as key drivers of investment activity in the region.

The funded companies span various sectors, including fintech, digital healthcare, and e-commerce, amid accelerating government efforts to diversify income sources and build sustainable digital economies.

This strong performance in the MENA region is an extension of a notable upward trend reflecting international investors' interest in maturing markets. Analysts believe that government incentives and the expansion of incubation environments directly contributed to attracting venture capital flows to the region.
