MNT-Halan has set the public offering price of its shares on the Egyptian Exchange at EGP 24.50 per share, compared to an independent fair value of EGP 25.92, with subscription starting tomorrow, October 7, according to the offering prospectus filed with the exchange.

The offering includes 320 million shares representing 20% of the company's capital of 1.6 billion shares, with an over-allotment option of up to 80 million shares, bringing the total offering to 400 million shares upon full coverage, according to the same source.

The public offering, comprising 48 million shares representing 15% of the total offering, will run from October 7 to 15, while the private placement of 272 million shares representing 85% of the offering will take place from October 7 to 13. EFG Hermes is acting as global coordinator and bookrunner, with a minimum purchase of 100 shares in the public offering and a 25% subscription payment. Last September, the Egyptian Exchange listing committee approved the temporary listing of the company's shares under the ticker HALN.CA.

Setting the offering price at EGP 24.50 means it came slightly below the fair value of EGP 25.92, which matters to readers because subscription results will determine the final price and demand for the share, while simultaneously measuring local and foreign investor appetite for major Egyptian companies in the exchange's largest listing in years.

What Do These Terms Mean?

Initial Public Offering (IPO): The sale of a company's shares to the public for the first time and its listing on the stock exchange, raising new capital and transferring company ownership to shareholders.

Fair Value: An estimated value of a share determined by an independent advisor based on the company's earnings and assets, used as a benchmark to gauge whether the offering price is high or low.

Over-Allotment: An option that allows the sale of additional shares beyond the originally offered quantity if demand exceeds supply, to cover excess demand and support the stock price after trading begins.
