Dubai Rises 0.3% to End 3-Session Loss Streak, Abu Dhabi Between Two Readings
The Dubai Financial Market General Index closed up 0.3% at 5,818.47 points, ending three consecutive sessions of losses, while Abu Dhabi's closing readings varied between a slight gain and a decline.

The Dubai Financial Market General Index closed up 0.3% at 5,818.47 points in Friday's session, according to Al Khaleej newspaper. The gain ended three consecutive losing sessions. Business Upturn reported that the index rose 0.36% to 5,819.96 points, trading in a range between 5,799.01 and 5,853.81 points during the session.
Gains were led by Emaar and Emirates NBD shares, suggesting the rise was concentrated in blue-chip stocks following a broad sell-off in previous sessions. In contrast, closing readings for the Abu Dhabi market differed: Al Khaleej reported that the FTSE ADX General Index fell 0.05% to 9,795.67 points, while Business Upturn reported it rose 0.08% to 9,808.52 points, leaving the index's direction disputed between the two sources. The 10,000-point mark is a psychological level watched by traders in the UAE market; the index lost it in the previous session and closed Friday about 2% below it.
On a weekly basis, the Dubai index ended the week at 5,818 points, down 1.4%, while the Abu Dhabi index dropped 1.78% to 9,795 points, according to Al Bayan newspaper.
The movement in both markets came as investors awaited negotiations between Washington and Tehran and developments in the Strait of Hormuz, alongside third-quarter financial results for listed companies, whose disclosure deadline is November 15.
