Houthis Claim 6 Attacks on Saudi Arabia; Future Investment Initiative Postponed to 2027

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said in a statement that the group carried out 6 attacks within 48 hours targeting oil facilities, airports, and military sites in Saudi Arabia, according to Xinhua News Agency. He added that the attacks came in response to more than 200 Saudi airstrikes and missile strikes on Sanaa and other regions in Yemen.

The statement mentioned that the first attack targeted Saudi Aramco facilities in the Red Sea city of Yanbu, and that a second attack targeted the Shaybah oil field in eastern Saudi Arabia, noting that fires broke out. It also pointed to the targeting of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Abha International Airport, radar facilities, King Khalid Air Base, a camp for a Saudi naval force, and a radar site in the Najran region.

There was no immediate comment from Saudi Arabia or the coalition it leads regarding the Houthi claims, according to Xinhua. In the same context, Riyadh announced the postponement of the 10th edition of the Future Investment Initiative conference, which was scheduled for October 26 to 29 in Riyadh, to the year 2027.

These developments come amid ongoing cross-border attacks between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia, alongside battles between the group and Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces. The local government said a Houthi missile attack on a military base in Shabwa province resulted in the deaths of 53 people and injured more than 200 others.
