Oman Offers $5 Billion in Tourism Opportunities in Dhofar Led by Future Salalah
The value of the five investment opportunities in Dhofar stands at approximately 1.95 billion Omani riyals, equivalent to $5.07 billion, with Future Salalah City accounting for the majority.

Dhofar Governorate in Oman is offering five tourism investment opportunities with a total value of approximately 1.95 billion Omani riyals ($5.07 billion), according to Further Arabia, with Future Salalah City alone accounting for about $4.94 billion of this value.
Muriya plans to develop around 1,000 hotel rooms distributed across the Hawana Salalah and Jebel Sifah projects over a period of three to five years, in a move that enhances the hotel capacity in the governorate, which is famous for its Khareef season and attracts visitors from within the Sultanate and GCC countries.
The company's Amazi project is nearing 80% completion, with delivery scheduled for the first quarter of 2027, adding new units to Dhofar's tourism offering and boosting opportunities to welcome larger numbers of visitors in upcoming seasons.
These figures point to a growing trend among GCC investors toward major tourism projects in the Sultanate, as the offering combines new hotel infrastructure and mixed-use projects. This makes Dhofar one of the region's most prominent tourism investment markets in the coming years, accompanied by a need for transportation infrastructure and supporting services. The success of these projects remains tied to the governorate's ability to attract international operators and connect the destination with direct flight routes that increase visitor flow throughout the year, not just during the Khareef season.
