Dutch Firm Forbion Raises $2.6 Billion in Its Largest Fundraising Round

Dutch life sciences investment firm Forbion has closed two new funds totaling €2.3 billion (around $2.6 billion) in the largest fundraising event in its history, as reported by VCWire.
The two funds are Forbion Growth Opportunities Fund IV, dedicated to late-stage companies, and Forbion Ventures Fund VIII, targeting early-stage companies, meaning the funds cover different stages of company development.
Investors in the funds include MN, PGGM, KfW Capital, the Kauffman Foundation, and Eli Lilly, representing a mix of pension funds, institutions, and pharmaceutical companies alongside other unnamed investors.
The firm manages around €7.5 billion in assets and states that the two new funds are capable of financing around 30 portfolio companies, with initial investments already completed, reflecting the scale of the firm's activity in the European market.
