Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi announced that Egypt and Indonesia agreed to increase the volume of bilateral trade between them to $5 billion by 2030, during talks with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, according to Arab Finance.

The two sides discussed ways to expand economic and commercial cooperation in line with the capabilities of both countries, while continuing efforts to remove obstacles preventing the achievement of this goal. The talks also addressed opportunities to expand joint manufacturing projects in key sectors.

The Egyptian side seeks to attract more Indonesian investments, relying on Egypt's position as a regional hub for production and export, and a gateway to Arab, African, and international markets. In the same context, the two leaders discussed enhancing cultural and educational cooperation between the two countries.

El-Sisi welcomed the continued influx of thousands of Indonesian students annually to Egypt to study at Al-Azhar University and Egyptian universities, pointing out the role of academic and cultural exchange in strengthening bilateral relations.
