US President Donald Trump stated that the United States is holding "fruitful" negotiations with Iran, and that Washington will not launch an attack on Tehran before the congressional midterm elections scheduled for November 3, according to the Qatar News Agency (QNA). These statements came in a post on the "Truth Social" platform, making it a directly declared stance from the president rather than through an administration spokesperson.

Trump added that the US blockade on Iranian ports remains in effect, indicating continued economic pressure on Tehran in parallel with the diplomatic track. The US position thus combines negotiation on one hand with maintaining pressure tools on the other, giving Washington room for maneuver in the coming period.

The US president said that oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz continue at record levels, noting that 22 million barrels passed through the strait the previous night, according to him. He added that none of these shipments originated from or were bound for Iran, a figure reported by QNA directly quoting the president's statement without independent confirmation.

This statement comes at a time when energy markets are experiencing sharp volatility amid reports of potential military options against Iran, making the course of negotiations one of the factors markets are watching closely. Any change in Washington's tone toward Tehran usually reflects quickly on crude prices and the pricing of navigation risks in the region.
