Saudi Arabia Postpones 'Davos in the Desert' to 2027 Amid Houthi Attacks
Saudi Arabia has postponed the Future Investment Initiative (Davos in the Desert), originally scheduled for October 26 to 29, to 2027, with a new date to be announced later.

Saudi Arabia has decided to postpone the Future Investment Initiative, media-dubbed "Davos in the Desert," from its scheduled date of October 26-29 to 2027, according to Al Jazeera.
The report noted that a new date will be announced later, in a move postponing the event to another time.
The decision comes amid Houthi attacks, according to the same source.
The report quoted the CEO of the Future Investment Initiative Institute as confirming the commitment to delivering the tenth edition of the event at full scale, meaning the postponement does not cancel the event but moves it to another date.
What do these terms mean?
Future Investment Initiative: A major investment conference hosted annually by Saudi Arabia, bringing together investors, officials, and corporate leaders from around the world.
Davos in the Desert: An informal name given by the media to the initiative to compare it to the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Tenth Edition: The tenth session of the event, which was scheduled to take place this year prior to the postponement decision.
