One-Third of Saudi Flights Canceled and Major Events Postponed

Data from aviation analytics firm Cirium showed that 322 out of 941 scheduled flights from Saudi Arabia, representing 34%, were cancelled or did not fly on October 19, according to Skift.

The cancellation rate in Riyadh remained at 66%, indicating that the capital remained the most affected by air traffic disruption.

In the same context, major events were postponed, including the Future Investment Initiative and the EU-GCC summit, while the "Six Kings Slam" tournament was moved to December.

Skift reported that this led to hotel booking cancellations and losses in business tourism spending, covering events such as meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions.
