LatAm Venture Funding Rises 12% to $1.03B as Growth Capital Jumps 158%

Venture funding in Latin America rose to $1.03 billion in the first quarter of 2026, an increase of 12% year on year, driven by the return of global funds to the region.

The increase was concentrated in late-stage and growth capital, which jumped 158% to $761 million, equivalent to roughly three quarters of the quarter's total liquidity, while seed and early-stage activity remained broadly flat.

This gap reflects the concentration dynamic prevailing in the global market, as capital moves toward companies that have proven their business model rather than new ventures. Based on that pattern, follow-on rounds into established fintech and e-commerce companies are expected to dominate regional activity over the next 24 months.

As a result, the recovery remains confined to more mature companies, whereas the rate of new company formation has yet to join the rebound.
