EGX 30 Index Closes Down 0.66% as Foreigners Sell EGP 521 Million

The EGX 30 index closed down 0.66% at 53,553.41 points, as foreign investors recorded net sales of EGP 521.422 million, while both the EGX 70 and EGX 100 indices fell by 0.89% each.

The EGX 30 index closed Monday's session down by 0.66% at 53,553.41 points, while both the EGX 70 and EGX 100 indices declined by 0.89% each. Turnover reached EGP 9.458 billion across 2.623 billion shares executed through 241,760 transactions, while market capitalization stood at EGP 4.239 trillion.

Foreign investors recorded net sales of EGP 521.422 million, and Arab investors recorded net sales of EGP 60.296 million, while Egyptians were the sole net buyers at EGP 581.718 million.

Turnover was 17.6% lower than the 90-day average, indicating relative calmness in activity compared to previous sessions. Despite the session's decline, the index maintains year-to-date gains of 28.0%.

Palm Hills Development led the gainers, rising 1.5%, followed by e-finance at 1.0%, and Heliopolis Housing at 0.7%. On the other hand, Misr Cement fell 5.5%, Edita dropped 2.9%, and Cleopatra Hospital declined 2.6%.
