UAE Leads Middle East Startup Funding with $1.2 Billion
UAE startups raised $1.2 billion across 83 deals in the first half of 2025, while Saudi Arabia recorded $259 million across 80 deals, and Egypt $158.9 million across 29 deals.

The UAE led the startup scene in the Middle East and North Africa region during the first half of 2025, with its startups raising a total of $1.2 billion across 83 investment deals, consolidating Dubai and Abu Dhabi's status as a leading regional hub for entrepreneurship and fintech.
Saudi Arabia ranked second with a total of $259 million raised across 80 deals, driven by the momentum of Vision 2030 and the growth of the fintech and digital healthcare sectors, while the Public Investment Fund continues to inject direct and indirect funding into the local startup ecosystem.
Egypt recorded $158.9 million across 29 deals, maintaining its position as the third-largest entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region despite exchange rate and inflation challenges. Financial and logistics sector deals topped the funding list, alongside growing interest from Gulf funds in Egyptian founders seeking regional expansion.
Collectively, these figures indicate that the region's startup ecosystem is steadily maturing: the gap between the UAE and its neighbors does not reflect a decline in other markets, but rather an accelerated capital flow toward regulatory environments that are more mature and exit-ready.
