Egypt Targets 5.4% Growth and EGP 3.7 Trillion Investments in 2026/27
Egypt's development plan targets economic growth of 5.4% and investments worth EGP 3.7 trillion in the fiscal year 2026/27, with the private sector contributing around 59%.

Egypt's development plan aims to achieve economic growth of 5.4% and total investments of EGP 3.7 trillion in the fiscal year 2026/27, with the private sector providing approximately 59% of these investments, according to Business Today Egypt.
Planning Minister Ahmed Rostom stated that the government has prepared a national economic transformation program spanning 2027 to 2030, aimed at increasing the private sector's contribution to economic activity and diversifying sources of growth away from reliance on a single sector.
This program puts public and private investments at the heart of its path, as the government relies on injecting new capital into infrastructure, industry, and services to drive growth—an approach that requires coordination between ambitious fiscal targets and available financing capacity.
This trend particularly concerns investors and companies operating in Egypt, because the targeted growth rate and investment volume determine the expected demand for goods and services and opportunities for participation in projects. Additionally, the private sector's share of spending serves as an indicator of the state's openness to engaging investors.
