TASI Closes Down 0.74% at 10,283 Points Amid Security Concerns
The main Tadawul index (TASI) fell 0.74% to close at 10,283.96 points, with SABIC shares dropping 1.72%, while Aramco shares rose to 25.76 SAR.

The Saudi Stock Exchange index, Tadawul (TASI), closed the trading session down 0.74% at 10,283.96 points, according to Investing.com, in a decline reflecting a security risk premium added after Saudi airports and facilities were subjected to attacks.
SABIC shares were among the weakest blue-chip stocks after falling 1.72%, while Saudi Aramco shares ended the session higher at 25.76 SAR, up 0.23%, bucking the broader downward trend.
This disparity reflects that selling pressure was concentrated in cyclical and commodity-linked stocks, at a time when traders tend to maintain holdings in energy stocks and defensive companies with cash dividends when geopolitical uncertainty prevails.
These movements concern investors and savers in the Saudi market and the region, as the security risk premium raises the cost of capital and puts pressure on valuations, even if temporarily, until the picture of the escalation and its impact on navigation and energy supplies becomes clear.
What do these terms mean?
TASI: The general index of the Saudi stock market, measuring the performance and market capitalization of the largest listed companies.
Blue-chip stocks: Large companies with the highest weight in the index, whose stock movements affect the index direction more than others.
Security risk premium: A discount investors apply to prices or a demand for higher returns to compensate for the potential escalation of conflict and its impact on the market.
