Georgia Tech Exceeds 200 Startup Teams in Entrepreneurship Record

Georgia Tech recorded a new record in entrepreneurship as the Startup Launch program surpassed the 200 startup teams milestone for the first time in its history, in a season that saw broad participation from students, faculty, researchers, and alumni alike.

This achievement was led by the CREATE-X and Quadrant-i initiatives, part of the university's Office of Commercialization, which supported teams in diverse sectors ranging from healthcare and robotics to legal tech and accessibility applications. Raghupathy Sivakumar, Chief Commercialization Officer, said that surpassing 200 teams reflects an ecosystem that helps "turn ideas into products and companies that solve real problems."

The record cohort featured diverse entrepreneurial models; prominent teams included Separate, developed by a Mexican legal graduate to simplify divorce proceedings using artificial intelligence, Brio Robotics, specializing in autonomous systems testing, and Fructus, which developed blueberry harvesting robots to address agricultural labor shortages in the state of Georgia.

The university will hold Demo Day on September 3, 2026, at the LOOP headquarters, with the participation of investors and industry leaders, where more than 150 startups will showcase their work to attendees. University officials seek to transform Georgia Tech into the premier startup campus in the United States by building an integrated and interconnected community of founders.
