OPEC+ Keeps Required Production in November Unchanged for Second Consecutive Month

The seven core members of the OPEC+ group maintained required production for November at the same levels recorded in September, during a virtual meeting held today, in a decision that pauses monthly increases for the second consecutive month.

The decision reinforces the trajectory of stabilizing production after the group paused monthly increases in October, making November the second consecutive month without an increase. The freeze comes at a time when markets are monitoring global supply volume and its impact on prices. The group had previously raised production on a monthly basis before halting that in the previous meeting.

Cuts implemented in 2022, estimated at around two million barrels per day, remain in effect until the end of the year, while the group is currently reviewing production capacity estimates in preparation for setting 2027 quotas. This review serves as a preliminary step for distributing quotas next year.

Members are scheduled to hold their next meeting on November 1, with traders anticipating its outcomes for indicators regarding the production trajectory in the coming period. This decision directly impacts oil prices and the revenues of producing countries, led by Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, alongside energy costs in global markets.
