Dollar Index Rebounds from 3-Month Lows to 99.65 Following Warsh's Remarks
The US Dollar Index rebounded from its three-month trough of 98.8 to around 99.65 following remarks by Fed Chair Warsh, which dispelled any shift toward rate cuts.

The US Dollar Index rebounded from its three-month low of 98.8 to return to around 99.65. This rebound came immediately following hawkish remarks by Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh regarding inflation and interest rates.
The remarks indicated that the Fed does not intend to rush into cutting interest rates, prompting traders to reprice their expectations for US monetary policy and abandon short positions on the dollar.
The dollar's strength casts a shadow over a number of global assets; its rise puts pressure on US dollar-denominated gold and oil prices, while exacerbating dollar-debt pressures on emerging market economies.
Analysts note a close correlation between the dollar's trajectory and upcoming Fed decisions, believing that any softening in the central bank's stance could reignite selling pressure on the dollar—while any steadfastness in its position remains supportive of the US currency.

Short Position: A financial bet on the decline of an asset's price, from which a trader profits if the price actually falls and loses if it rises—one of the core speculative tools in currency markets.
Repricing Monetary Policy: Traders adjusting their expectations regarding future central bank decisions in response to new data or statements, rapidly moving currency, bond, and stock prices.
