MNT-Halan Targets $149.6 Million Offering and Trading on October 20

MNT-Halan aims to raise approximately $149.6 million by offering 320 million shares on the Egyptian Exchange at EGP 24.50 per share, representing 20% of the issued capital, according to a report by the Waya platform.

The offering size is equivalent to around EGP 7.84 billion, and trading of the shares is expected to begin on October 20 following the completion of listing procedures, with only the Egyptian operations included in the transaction, excluding the group's other activities.

The company's CEO stated that the valuation of the Egyptian business is close to $750 million, compared to a valuation of around $1.4 billion for the entire group, meaning the offering covers only a portion of the company's operations. Anchor investors include the Redwheel fund with approximately $20 million and Commercial International Bank (CIB) with around $38 million.

This offering targets investors and small savers in Egypt, as it expands investment options on the Cairo exchange and provides an indicator of market appetite for fintech shares. Furthermore, the success or struggle of the offering will set the pace for upcoming IPOs in the market.
