Indonesia Injects Over SAR 6 Billion into Makkah Hotels and Retail
Indonesia's Danantara fund has committed over SAR 6 billion to hotel and retail projects in Makkah, with plans for around 4,700 hotel rooms, expandable further.

Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund, Danantara, has committed over SAR 6 billion to hotel and retail projects in Makkah, according to Enterprise AM.
The spending includes around SAR 1 billion for a hotel in Makkah, over SAR 1 billion for land, and nearly SAR 4 billion for development across 14 land plots.
The plans feature around 4,700 hotel rooms with the potential to expand to nearly 6,000 rooms, in addition to retail spaces for over 90 stores, with no completion timeline specified.
This commitment reflects the interest of sovereign wealth funds in investing in Makkah's hospitality sector, at a time when accommodation and service projects linked to Hajj and Umrah are expanding.
