Egypt's EGX30 Index Jumps 32.1% Since the Beginning of 2026
Egypt's main stock market index, EGX30, has risen by 32.1% since the beginning of 2026, recording one of the strongest performances in the Middle East and North Africa region during this period.

Egypt's main stock market index, EGX30, rose by 32.1% from the beginning of 2026 until the end of July, achieving one of the strongest performances in the region and significantly outperforming most Gulf stock exchanges.
This exceptional performance was backed by a number of factors, most notably the stability of the Egyptian pound and restored confidence among institutional investors, as well as an improved business environment and the inflow of foreign investments.
Shares in the construction, banking, and telecommunications sectors led the upward trend, while positive forecasts of 4.2% growth for the Egyptian economy in 2026 helped boost investor appetite.
Analysts believe the Egyptian Stock Exchange is making up for missed gains in recent years amid a wave of inflation and currency depreciation. However, they warn that high inflation may reduce the real value of these gains when calculated on an inflation-adjusted basis.
