DoubleVerify, a company specializing in digital advertising verification, announced the launch of attribution measurement for ChatGPT campaigns through its platform "DV Rockerbox," allowing advertisers to treat the channel as a touchpoint along the purchasing journey when evaluating conversions and return on ad spend.

Simultaneously, the company is developing an experiment to evaluate brand suitability for the advertising environment within ChatGPT in collaboration with OpenAI as part of a controlled test, without accessing users' private conversations, according to the company's announcement.

DoubleVerify stated that the cost per acquisition (CPA) attributed to ChatGPT ads for the Weight Watchers brand was 15.3% lower than its benchmark, an initial indicator of the channel's ability to deliver results efficiently compared to other channels.

Measurement and verification tools represent an essential element in opening advertising budgets to new channels, as advertisers hesitate to pour money into a platform where they cannot measure results or ensure content suitability. This trend comes after conversational ads emerged as a rising market where major measurement companies compete.

What do these terms mean?

Attribution: Identifying the channel or ad that drove the user to complete a purchase. Cost Per Acquisition (CPA): What the advertiser pays for each new customer or purchase. Return on Ad Spend (ROAS): The revenue generated for every unit spent on advertising. Brand Suitability: The extent to which the ad display environment aligns with the brand's values.
