Saudi Stocks Record Underperformance in July 2026

What do these terms mean?

Tadawul Index: It is the main index of the Saudi Exchange (Riyadh Stock Exchange), measuring the performance of total listed stocks in the Kingdom, and serving as a barometer for the health of the Saudi economy for local and foreign investors.

Petrochemicals: These are chemical products derived from petroleum and natural gas, such as plastics, fertilizers, and solvents. Petrochemical companies are among the largest listed companies on Tadawul and significantly impact index performance.

Capital Flows: Describes the movement of money entering and exiting financial markets. When investors hold back from a market and transfer their funds to other markets, capital flows are said to have exited it, causing stock prices to drop.
