International Agency Raises Its Outlook for Egypt to Positive Amid Tangible Economic Improvement

One of the major international credit rating agencies has raised its outlook for Egypt from stable to positive, citing a tangible improvement in macroeconomic indicators during the current year.

In its report, the agency pointed to a decrease in the ratio of external debt to gross domestic product, a rise in foreign exchange reserves to more sustainable levels, as well as a reduction in the state budget gap.

This upgrade comes in the context of the economic reform program implemented by Egypt in coordination with the International Monetary Fund, which aimed to rationalize spending, diversify revenue sources, and enhance monetary stability.

Analysts expect that the rating improvement will contribute to lowering government borrowing costs and attracting additional foreign investments. However, ongoing challenges from high debt and pressing inflation make maintaining this reform momentum an indispensable condition.
