AST SpaceMobile Appoints Chief Commercial Officer and Telecom Companies Form Joint Venture

AST SpaceMobile announced the appointment of Wayne Thorsen as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, an executive who previously served as Chief Operating Officer at SiriusXM and worked on Google Fi and Pixel phones. Thorsen was granted 200,000 restricted stock units valued at approximately $11.4 million as of Thursday's close at $57.04.

In a separate development, US telecom companies AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon announced the formalization of a technology-neutral satellite joint venture. AST SpaceMobile confirmed that its existing agreements with AT&T and Verizon remain unaffected by this move.

AST SpaceMobile stock ended Thursday's session down 3.1% at $57.04, marking its fourth consecutive declining session, pointing to pressure on the stock despite operational and managerial developments. The price performance contrasts with the company's steps to strengthen its commercial team and build partnerships with telecom operators.
