Israeli-American cybersecurity startup Rein Security has raised $25 million in a Series A funding round to develop solutions that protect AI agents during runtime.
The company addresses a challenge organizations face in controlling the AI agents they build and operate. These programs can execute multi-step tasks and access internal systems, making monitoring their behavior and detecting errors a complex task requiring specialized tools. Organizations need to know what the agent is actually doing, what data it has accessed, and whether its actions comply with internal policies.
SecurityWeek reported that the round reflects growing investor interest in AI agent security as the deployment of these tools expands within companies and government entities, an interest that has turned into a standalone market this year.
The round was co-led by Glilot Capital and Sienna Venture Capital, with additional support from Corner Ventures, Atlacle and RNP Capital Advisors. The report did not include the valuation on which it was based, details the market is awaiting to gauge confidence in the AI agent security sector, which remains in its early stages compared to traditional cybersecurity fields.
What Do These Terms Mean?
Series A: The first significant round of funding a startup receives after its seed funding, typically used to expand the team and product.
AI Agent: An artificial intelligence program that executes multi-step tasks semi-autonomously, rather than just answering a single question.
Runtime: The phase in which the program is actively running and receiving commands, which is the moment when errors or breaches can occur.
