Italy Cuts Air Traffic Management Capacity by 50% After Data Network Fault
Italy's civil aviation agency ENAV stated that air traffic management capacity dropped by 50% due to a malfunction in the data transmission network, ruling out a cyberattack.

The Italian civil aviation agency (ENAV) announced that the country's air traffic management capacity dropped by 50% due to issues with the data transmission network supporting air traffic control systems.
The agency ruled out a cyberattack or sabotage behind the outage, confirming that the issue was technical and related to the communication network serving traffic management.
At Rome Fiumicino Airport, four departing flights were canceled and about 20 others were delayed by 15 minutes to an hour.
ANSA news agency reported in a later update that the outage was resolved, and systems gradually returned to normal operation.
