New Umrah Bookings in the UAE Drop 50% Amid Flight Disruptions
Travel operators in the UAE say new Umrah requests dropped by about 50% at the start of the peak season, while existing bookings remained stable.
Travel operators in the UAE reported that new inquiries and bookings for Umrah trips fell by around 50% at the start of the busy Umrah season, which typically sees high demand.
Operators explained that existing bookings remained largely intact, with the decline concentrated in new requests usually added during this period of the season.
Bus package prices are estimated at around AED 1,100 for a ten-day trip, while flight packages start from around AED 2,700, according to Khaleej Times.
Passengers affected by Riyadh flight cancellations are being rerouted to Jeddah or Medina, easing some of the pressure on flights heading to the holy sites.
