Salla Plus raises $18 million despite a regional startup funding slowdown
Closes an $18 million Series A funding round to expand into six governorates, Egyptian e-commerce startup Salla Plus announced on October 14.

Egyptian small-business e-commerce platform Salla Plus announced on October 14, 2026, that it closed an $18 million Series A funding round. Nile Valley Venture Capital led the round with participation from investors in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, marking one of the largest investment rounds for an Egyptian startup this year.
Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Mona El-Sherif said the new funding will support expansion into six additional governorates by mid-2027 and the construction of four new warehouses. She added that the company is developing a credit scoring system based on sales data rather than traditional collateral to ease financing.
Company data showed that order value on the platform grew 210 percent over the past year, exceeding $95 million annually. Founded in 2023, the platform serves more than 42,000 stores in 11 Egyptian governorates, allowing them to order goods from suppliers with deferred payment terms of up to 30 days.
Salla Plus seeks to increase its workforce from 380 current employees to 600 over the coming year. The successful funding round comes amid a broader regional slowdown in startup financing.
