Saudi, Turkish, and Pakistani officials headed to Tehran on Monday, October 26, to hold talks aimed at lowering regional tensions. Bloomberg reported that senior Saudi and Turkish officials traveled to Iran for discussions focused on easing tensions.

Al Jazeera reported that members of the Mecca Defense Alliance were in Tehran in an effort to defuse tensions between Iran and the United States, as well as between Iran and Yemen. It noted that the talks cover the Yemen file and US-Iranian relations.

Qatari mediators had traveled to Tehran on Sunday, according to Zoya. This coincided with statements by US President Donald Trump ruling out an imminent strike on Iran.

The diplomatic move was preceded by a broad rise in Gulf stock markets, signaling investors' anticipation of the outcome of the talks. The market is waiting to see whether the mediation will yield a calm that eases geopolitical risks on oil prices and regional assets.
