Matiks raised $10 million in a Pre-Series A round led by General Catalyst, according to TechCrunch.

Ronnie Screwvala participated in the round, along with existing investors InfoEdge Ventures, Tanglin Venture Partners, and Untitled Ventures.

The proceeds will be used to expand the experimental Jelo game generation platform and enter new markets, without the company disclosing its valuation following the round.

The company is working on a platform that allows games to be created and tested quickly, a model aimed at reducing the time between a game concept and its public release.

Pre-Series A: A funding round that comes between seed funding and Series A, used to test the business model before major expansion.

Game Generation Platform: A tool allowing developers or users to rapidly create and edit games, often with the help of ready-made templates.
