TikTok announced at Advertising Week in New York City its "Buy Direct" service, which allows order completion with a single click inside the app. Built in collaboration with Salesforce, Shopify, Shoplazza, and Stripe, the feature comes alongside an AI shopping assistant that answers product questions and can complete purchases autonomously.
The company stated that it has opened the "TikTok Audience Network," formerly known as Pangle and reaching nearly 400,000 apps, to advertisers in the United States. It also launched the "Agentic Lead Generation" tool, which relies on AI agents to collect data from interested prospects instead of relying entirely on traditional registration forms.
TikTok explained that its "GMV Max" campaign management tool will now calculate affiliate commissions, coupons, and referral fees within performance optimization, aiming to achieve a "true return on investment"—measuring the merchant's net return after all costs rather than gross sales alone.
These steps aim to boost social commerce, a model that integrates product discovery and purchasing within the app itself. These tools are important for merchants and brands in the Arab region, where TikTok is one of the most widely used platforms, as one-click purchasing reduces the friction steps where many users abandon their shopping carts.
