Abu Dhabi Bets $3.5 Billion on AI-Led Government
Abu Dhabi is investing AED 13 billion (around $3.5 billion) to transform its digital services and achieve an AI-led government by 2027.

Abu Dhabi is investing 13 billion dirhams, or about $3.5 billion, in transforming its digital services, striving to achieve by 2027 what it describes as an AI-"led" government with complete end-to-end digital transformation, according to "Fortune" magazine via "Yahoo Tech".
This initiative relies on a tool called "AutoGov," launched in October 2025 within the "TAMM" application, which handles routine tasks such as license renewals and bill payments without requiring paper procedures or manual review from the applicant.
The "TAMM" application brings together more than 1,000 government services in one place, making the transformation a convergence point for multiple government entities on a single platform instead of dispersing services across separate platforms.
Ruba Al Hassan from the Department of Government Enablement in Abu Dhabi spoke of a model based on trust and automation, according to the source, where the logic is that the system takes on repetitive tasks and leaves sensitive decisions for human intervention when necessary.
What do these terms mean?
AI-led government: A government model in which artificial intelligence is integrated into delivering daily services, taking over repetitive tasks and restricting the employee's role to complex decisions.
End-to-end digital transformation: Transforming the entire service into an electronic process without any paper step or physical presence at any stage.
"TAMM" App: The unified government platform in Abu Dhabi that aggregates services from government entities into a single application.
Automation: Running a task automatically through the system without direct human intervention at every step.
