“Gemini 4 Argon” Arrives for App Subscribers with Unsupervised Task Mode
Google has launched the “Gemini 4 Argon” model for subscribers to its application, introducing a task mode that enables the completion of long-running work autonomously across more than 40 applications.

The “Gemini 4 Argon” model, unveiled by Google on September 30, has arrived for subscribers to the “Pro” and “Ultra” plans in the Gemini app, accompanied by a new task mode that enables the model to work on long-running jobs without user supervision, according to the “SiliconANGLE” website.
The task mode spans more than 40 connected applications, meaning the model can execute a series of steps distributed across multiple services instead of being limited to a single chat window.
The website reported that the model scored 77.9% on the “DeepSWE v1.1” benchmark, compared to 74.2% for Anthropic's “Claude Opus 5.5” model, a lead that positions it at the forefront of models competing in software engineering tasks.
API pricing starts at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, before rising to $4 and $20 after November 30, according to the same source.
What do these terms mean?
Task Mode: An operating mode that allows the model to complete lengthy work in stages without requiring the user to monitor every step.
Connected App: An external service accessed by the model to read from or execute tasks in, authorized by the user.
Token: The smallest unit of text processed by the model, based on which usage cost is calculated.
API: A channel that enables software to use the model automatically for a price calculated based on the number of tokens.
