The Egyptian Ministry of Housing discussed the settlement of land statuses in new cities following the addition of approximately 139,000 feddans to their boundaries, along with a proposal for a unified electronic system.

Egypt's Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Randa Al-Manshawy, chaired the fourth meeting to follow up on the settlement of land statuses in new cities, in the presence of deputy ministers, officials from the New Urban Communities Authority, and city heads.

The ministry reviewed the status of land regularization in areas added to the boundaries of new cities, including Sheikh Zayed, New Sphinx, El Shorouk, New Obour, 6th of October, and New October, with total added areas reaching nearly 139,000 feddans.

Al-Manshawy called for expediting the processing of citizens' requests and taking the necessary measures to facilitate them in a way that balances citizens' rights with urban planning requirements, emphasizing the importance of processing requests according to clear guidelines and specific procedures to regularize citizens' statuses and prepare land for development.

The meeting included a presentation of a proposed unified electronic system for land settlement, highlighting its features and the citizen's journey through the platform from application submission to land allocation. Attendees also reviewed the progress of infrastructure works related to the settlement process.
