Taiwan Refers 9 Defendants to Trial over Charges of Smuggling Nvidia B300 Chips to China

Taiwanese authorities referred 9 individuals to trial on charges of diverting 130 servers equipped with Nvidia B300 chips to China in violation of US export controls, with the defendants including employees from Nvidia and Super Micro, facing up to five years in prison if convicted.

Investigations revealed that the defendants carried out the diversion through intermediary companies in Taiwan and Hong Kong to conceal the final destination of the shipments, in what is considered one of the most documented evasion patterns targeting restrictions on advanced chip exports to China.
