MNT-Halan Completes $76.5 Million Securitizations in Egypt

Egyptian financial services company MNT-Halan has completed three securitization transactions with a total value exceeding 4 billion EGP, equivalent to approximately $76.5 million. The issuances were carried out for its subsidiaries, Halan Consumer Finance and Tasaheel Finance. This step comes as part of the company's efforts to diversify funding sources and support its lending activities.

The three issuances were distributed between Halan Consumer Finance, valued at 528.5 million EGP (approx. $10.1 million), and Tasaheel Finance with two issuances: the first worth 1.2 billion EGP (approx. $23 million) and the second worth 2.28 billion EGP (approx. $43.6 million). This distribution reflects the group's reliance on tiered-size issuances to fund its portfolios.

Securitization relies on converting loan portfolios into securities purchased by investors, allowing the company to obtain immediate cash liquidity to fund new loans instead of waiting for customer repayments. MNT-Halan previously executed a securitized bond issuance worth 3.4 billion EGP (approx. $71.4 million) in October of last year, and secured equity financing in June 2026 at a valuation of $1.4 billion.

Founded in 2018, the company states it has disbursed over $15.5 billion in loans and serves more than 8 million customers globally, with over 2.3 million quarterly active users and 10 million app downloads. This development remains separate from MNT-Halan's listing on the Egyptian Exchange.
