AI Agents Hack Over 100 Companies for Around $50 per Hack
AI agents successfully hacked more than 100 companies, including John Deere, SharkNinja, and Cummins, at an estimated cost of around $50 per breach.

AI agents successfully hacked more than 100 companies in a campaign that used the open-source platform "Cairn", at an estimated cost of around $50 per successful breach, according to an estimate provided to Reuters by NorForge researcher Snorre Fagerland.
The agents attempted to breach more than 1,200 websites and successfully gained access to over 100 companies, including John Deere, SharkNinja, and Cummins.
Reuters was unable to determine the amount of data obtained.
The incident indicates that AI tools have reduced the cost of cyberattacks and increased their speed, as they can execute repeated attempts at scale.
