Tenstorrent Raises $1.5 Billion at a $6.2 Billion Valuation

Tenstorrent closed a $1.5 billion Series E funding round at a post-money valuation of $6.2 billion, more than double its valuation in late 2024, according to a company statement.

The round was co-led by Trace Capital and Innovation X, with participation from ARK Invest, Fidelity, Morgan Stanley, T. Rowe Price, and other investors, according to the statement.

The company is working on manufacturing and deploying Galaxy servers, and plans to use the capital to scale these operations and expand its CPU and AI IP licensing.

The new valuation reflects a doubling of the company's value since late 2024, with capital directed toward server manufacturing and IP licensing.

What do these terms mean?

Series E: An advanced funding round for a private company, following seed rounds and Series A through D, typically used for major expansion or manufacturing.

Post-money valuation: The value of a company after adding new capital, calculated by adding the pre-money valuation to the funding amount.

IP licensing: Granting another company the right to use a design or technology for a fee, without selling ownership of the technology itself.
