Qatar Opens GloBE Information Return Registration Portal for Multinational Groups

The State of Qatar announced the launch of a dedicated online portal for GloBE Information Return registration, giving eligible multinational groups around three months to complete their registration within the OECD Pillar Two framework for the 15% global minimum tax.

Multinational enterprises whose consolidated annual revenues exceed 750 million euros are required to submit this information return, which outlines their tax structure in each country where they operate, enabling tax authorities to verify compliance with the established minimum tax.

Gulf countries are progressively adopting this path amid a wave of tax modernization initiated by the UAE with the introduction of corporate tax in 2023. These nations seek to strike a balance between maintaining their investment attractiveness and aligning their systems with rising international standards.

Affected companies operating in Qatar will need to grasp the new requirements and prepare to submit accurate operational and financial data, including their effective tax rates in each jurisdiction. Tax executives at these companies are advised to act early to avoid deadline pressure.
