Scandic completes €500 million purchase of Dalata hotel operations
Scandic completed its €500 million purchase of Dalata's hotel operations, adding 57 hotels and about 12,500 rooms plus a pipeline of about 1,600 rooms.

Scandic Hotels Group completed its acquisition of Dalata Hotel Group's hotel operations for €500 million on a cash- and debt-free basis, adding 57 hotels with about 12,500 rooms plus a pipeline of about 1,600 additional rooms.
The company financed the deal with cash and cash equivalents and loan facilities under the long-term financing framework it announced in July 2026, and the acquired operations will be consolidated into the "Other Europe" segment of Scandic's financial reporting from 2 November 2026.
The acquisition strengthens Scandic's position as a leading hotel company in northern Europe, with more than 320 hotels in 150 destinations across 11 markets, and adds the Clayton and Maldron brands, which hold established positions in Ireland and the UK.
Chief executive Jens Mathiesen said the deal is an important step in Scandic's growth journey, noting that the company had previously managed the hotel operations for Pandox and had gained greater confidence in the business's potential, and welcoming Dalata's employees. Scandic said more details, including pro forma financial information, will be presented with its third-quarter report on 10 November 2026.
