Tesla unveiled its humanoid robot "Optimus," capable of performing a variety of manual tasks on manufacturing lines, while Boston Dynamics is developing advanced versions of its "Atlas" robot for industrial and commercial applications, and Foxconn is moving to replace production lines with robots.

Companies pursuing full automation face challenges in dealing with unstructured environments and unexpected objects, as robots still struggle to handle the vast diversity of merchandise shapes and sizes that humans manage with ease.

Economists believe that robots will create new jobs in their maintenance, programming, and monitoring; however, the rapid pace of transformation could make it difficult for unskilled workers to adapt, warning of the necessity of government-funded vocational retraining policies to prevent severe structural unemployment.
